Every day is a new beginning.

Every day, a world to win.

Every day offers a chance
to contribute,
to take one small step forward.

A chance
to learn,
to stand beside someone else,
to create something new.

On May 5, I visited the exhibition by Steve McQueen
at De Pont Museum.

In a video portrait, he speaks
about the ideas behind his work.
About the dark legacy of colonialism.

About his father,
a victim of racist violence —
a trauma that stayed with him throughout his life.

The exhibition confronts us with
what human beings can do to one another.

But it also speaks of the strength
and courage
required to tell a different story.
To live a different story.

It invites us
to connect more deeply
with what truly matters.

With the things that give meaning to our lives.
